Kadambini Mahakud became the first woman cricketer from Orissa to score a century in a BCCI-conducted inter-state tournament today.
Wicketkeeper-batswoman Kadambini`s unbeaten 100 helped Orissa make 201 for two on the opening day of their East Zone league match against Sikkim at Ravenshaw ground in Cuttack.
In reply, Sikkim were skittled out for 40 and then finished the day at 23 for four after being made to follow on. Off-spinner Priyanka Sahu destroyed the Sikkim innings, taking seven wickets for five runs.
In two other matches, Jharkhand and Tripura posted competitive totals against Bengal and Manipur respectively.
